Interim Orders of the Health Professions Council

Interim Orders of the hpc

If the HPC deem that the practitioner represents a risk to themselves and/or patent safety, they will refer your case to the respective Committee with a recommendation that an interim order should be imposed.

The purpose of these proceedings is to either place restrictions or suspend your registration until the substantive matter has been concluded. This Panel make no factual findings and the HPC will indicate on their website what the outcome is.

When assessing the case the Panel will look at the strength of the evidence, the seriousness and credibility of the allegations and the likelihood of repetition.

When are order is made it is usually for a period of 18 months, with a review being carried out every 6 months. This can have serious implications for your career and it is important you have the benefit of legal representation at any hearing. If you are subject to an interim order already, we may be able to assist you by making representations the next review hearing.
