Tips on dealing with the General Medical Council

tips on dealing with the GMC

Consider that any correspondence you send to the GMC may be placed before a Fitness to Practise Panel at a later stage.

Any communication will be assessed to determine whether you are making an admission and what insight you have into the allegations raised against you.

Make sure you are familiar with “Good Medical Practice” and any associated GMC guidance.

Ensure you keep copies of all correspondence and documents in relation to the complaint.

After any incident, ensure you make a contemporaneous record that is signed and dated outlining the details and those involved.

Seek legal advice at the earliest opportunity from MAS because your career and reputation are at stake!
