Referral to the Interim Orders Panel

If the Assistant Registrar determines that given the nature of the allegations, there is a risk to public/patient safety and/or the safety of the doctor if they are allowed to practice, a referral to an Interim Orders Panel can be made. This Panel make no factual findings, merely applying the statutory test set out in s.41A of the Medical Act 1983.

If you find yourself in these circumstances, there is much at stake. There is the risk that your registration may be subject to conditions or suspended for up to 18 months. This order is normally reviewed every 6 months but once in place is difficult to revoke.

One of the experienced MedicAssistanceScheme solicitors can provide you with representation at these proceedings and make submissions on your behalf while safeguarding your position in respect of the main matter.
