Investigation by the General Chiropractic Council

Investigation by the GCC

Once a complaint has been made, it is investigated by the GCC. As well as complaints from the public, information may be provided by other agencies including your employer and the police. You may be invited to make comment during the investigation stage on the evidence against you. Any comment you make may be referred to at a later stage, particularly if your case is referred to one of the Committees for adjudication.

It is important you seek advice at an early stage as usually the time period for comment is 28 days. In our experience, comprehensive detailed submissions can persuade the Investigation Committee that the “realistic prospect test” is not met.
As well as your evidence, we can assess the circumstances and advise you on any other evidence that may be useful to your defence such as witness statements, expert reports and testimonials. We also have knowledge on how to best present your Personal Development Plan to the GCC to demonstrate your knowledge and clinical skills are up to date.
