Adjudication by the General Chiropractic Council

Adjudication by the GCC

Cases of alleged personal or professional misconduct or incompetence are referred to the Professional Conduct Committee. The process is carried out in 3 stages namely:

  • fact finding
  • does this amount to unprofessional conduct?
  • sanction

We have experience of representing practitioners at factually contested hearings and those where substantial admissions are made. We can give you a realistic assessment of your options and the likely outcome.

The PCC has the power to:

  • admonish the chiropractor,
  • impose a ‘conditions of practice’ order,
  • suspend the chiropractor’s registration, or
  • remove the chiropractor from the Register.

Allegations that a chiropractor is physically or mentally unfit are referred to the Health Committee, which has the power to:

  • impose a ‘conditions of practice’ order,
  • suspend the chiropractor’s registration.

We are experienced in dealing with sensitive health matters and can advise you on your options. MAS also has experience in negotiating workable, proportionate conditions that allow practitioners to return to work in a supportive environment.
